Dr Muhammad Dan Suleiman

Founder & President

Dr. Muhammad Dan Suleiman is the Founder and President of At-Tasfiya Gh, an Islamic not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a vibrant Muslim community that practices its faith with pride while contributing meaningfully to local and global communities. His leadership stems from over 15 years of professional experience in the disability and support work sector, over 10 years of teaching, research and engagement experience, and a lifelong commitment to the ideals of compassion, community and justice for building inclusive and resilient societies.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, after working at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University, where he worked as a lecturer and research associate. Dr. Suleiman has worked for organisations in Ghana and Australia, such as the Islamic Development Organization, the Australian Foundation for Disability, Life Without Barriers, Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney, and Healthcare Australia. He has also collaborated with others, such as Oxfam Australia. These experiences have shaped his commitment to empowering individuals, particularly those facing physical and psychological challenges, through faith-based initiatives emphasising dignity, compassion, and self-reliance.

Academically, Dr Suleiman holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Western Australia, a Master of International Law from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Geography from the University of Ghana. He is a recognised scholar whose extensive work on governance and security is published in leading academic journals and global platforms.

Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Suleiman has earned accolades for his teaching and mentorship, including the Khalifa Al-Falasi Prize in Muslim Studies (2018) and the UWA Guild Students’ Choice Award for Excellence in Teaching (2020). He is also a Fellow of the United Nations Fellowship Programme for People of African Descent (2020) and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr. Suleiman’s vision and work at At-Tasfiya Gh emphasise the role of Islamic principles in addressing contemporary issues while strengthening the bonds between individuals, families, and communities. Under his leadership, At-Tasfiya Gh continues to develop programs, events, and resources that promote spiritual growth, social welfare, and collective progress.

Ibrahim Rauf is a seasoned professional with nearly a decade of experience in business intelligence, pricing, commercial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and analytics within leading corporate environments. As the Executive Director of At-Tasfiya Gh, he brings his analytical expertise and leadership to advance the organisation's mission of fostering a thriving and impactful Muslim community in Ghana.

In his corporate career, Ibrahim currently serves as a Senior Analyst for Commercial Planning at MTN Ghana, where he has demonstrated exceptional skill in creating innovative business models, developing impactful strategies, and driving operational excellence. His initiatives have significantly improved efficiency, data accuracy, and operational performance. Previously, he held key roles at Vodafone Ghana, where his contributions to financial planning, business intelligence, and product analysis were instrumental in shaping organisational success.

Ibrahim's dedication to community advancement is equally remarkable. As a volunteer with the Zurak Cancer Foundation, he led transformative health initiatives, including a breast cancer awareness campaign that provided free screenings to over 5,000 underserved individuals. His efforts extended to securing lifesaving medical procedures and conducting educational outreach to combat cancer prevalence in Ghana.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has supplemented his academic foundation with specialised finance, data analytics, and project management training.

His key expertise include Business Intelligence and Financial Analysis, Commercial Strategy and Pricing, Leadership in Health and Community Development, and Budgeting, Forecasting, and Data-Driven Decision-Making.

Through his role at At-Tasfiya Gh, Ibrahim combines his professional acumen and passion for community service, steering impactful programs that reflect the values of faith, compassion, and societal growth.

Mr Nurudeen Suleiman

Director of Programs

Nurudeen Suleiman brings a wealth of experience in public administration, research, and management to his role as Director of Programs at At-Tasfiya Gh. He holds an MPhil and a BSc in Public Administration from the University of Ghana Business School, where his research focused on sustainable development and the impact of small-scale mining on rural communities in Ghana. Additionally, his academic foundation includes a Diploma in Public Administration, providing him with a robust understanding of public sector management, environmental governance, and development administration.

Nurudeen is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with extensive fieldwork experience. He has collaborated with renowned academic institutions, including the University of Saskatchewan and the Global Development Institute at the University of Manchester, on projects exploring human security, rural development, and environmental sustainability. His scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed articles and book chapters examining the intersection of mining, human insecurity, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana.

In addition to his academic achievements, Nurudeen has diverse professional experience. He has managed his own business, taught at two high schools, and actively volunteers with an NGO dedicated to training young people. His leadership as Director of Programs at At-Tasfiya Gh reflects his dedication to fostering impactful initiatives that align with the organization’s mission. He oversees programs focused on community empowerment, environmental stewardship, youth development, and advancing social welfare, ensuring their effective implementation and long-term sustainability.

Fluent in English, Akan, Hausa, and Arabic, Nurudeen is adept at engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders. This makes him a vital asset to At-Tasfiya Gh's mission of creating meaningful change across the Muslim community and beyond.
